Naha is Okinawa’s capital and the one place you can genuinely skip the rental car. The Yui Rail monorail connects the airport, hotels, and the Kokusai Dori shopping street.

It’s the easiest landing for tired first-day families or short 2–3 night trips. You trade beach access for convenience.

Cons: No real swimming beach; you’ll still need day tours or a car for the north.

Onna: The Beachfront Resort Base
